About Phil Cornelius

Phil Cornelius

With over eighteen years' experience in the RV industry, becoming part of the Marathon organization in 1994 was truly one of the high points in my career. Each year has brought new experiences and wonderful relationships, and the future looks even more exciting! Achieving the position as 1998,1999,2000,2001,2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 sales leader for Marathon Coach, Inc. was possible only through the combined support of the industry's most talented and experienced engineering and production personnel, a superior service and support organization, and leadership with integrity and vision. I especially appreciate the many customers who have placed their confidence in me and the company I represent and have given me many referrals over the years. A special "Thank You!" to my wife, Kim, whose assistance and unending support has been an immeasurable contribution to our success.

Kim and I have designed this site to assist our present and future customers in their search for and selection of the ideal luxury coach. We hope you will enjoy exploring our site.

About Marathon Coach

Marathon Coach, Inc. is recognized as the world's leading converter of new busses and the largest converter of the Prevost bus shell. However, achieving this status was no accident. Since its beginning in 1982, Marathon has satisfied the needs of a very discriminating class of bus conversion enthusiasts. In the early 90's, Mr. Robert A. Schoellhorn recognized the growth potential of Marathon Coach and soon gained controlling interest. In 1994, Mr. Schoellhorn expanded his majority interest by purchasing the remaining shares of the company. Mr. Schoellhorn retired from Abbot Laboratories after serving as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. His worldwide business expertise, investment, leadership and commitment enabled Marathon Coach to move far ahead of the competition in product development, service, and support of an exclusive owners' club. The Schoellhorn family's commitment to the company and this industry provides security, stability, and an enjoyble environment appreciated by Marathon Coach owners world wide.

Marathon Coach manufacturing facility

In keeping with the company's commitment to excellence, Marathon Coach completed a new state-of-the-art production, sales, and service facility in Coburg, Oregon in 1994. The new plant has expanded Marathon's production and service capabilities with ready access from Interstate 5 just five miles north of Eugene, Oregon. Encompassing approximately 134,000 square feet on 17 acres, the new facility features 21 production stalls, two 65' paint booths and an expanded 18-bay service center. In addition, there is an accessory store, comfortable customer lounge, clothing boutique, and a full hook-up RV park with Laundromat facilities and barbecue area. The new facility has served its purpose of more efficiently handling increased production requirements and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Marathon Coach designs and builds custom conversions on new commercial bus chassis provided to us by Prevost, MCI, Neoplan, and others. Each Marathon Coach is designed and constructed as a custom home, using the highest quality furnishings and appliances combined with the finest materials, components, and technology available. Our clientele includes the most discriminating RV enthusiasts, racing teams, corporations, entertainers, and royalty from around the world. These customers have grown to appreciate the company that meets their highest expectations.

Marathon Coach state of the art production facility

Marathon Coach has no divided interest. From the most experienced craftspeople, engineers, mechanics, support personnel, and décor professionals to the exclusive owners' club, Marathon focuses completely on satisfying the needs of bus owners. Marathon's marketing approach is also designed to better serve the bus owner. There are no selling dealers (middlemen) that tend to increase initial price and depreciation, and decrease the manufacturer's control of how customers are treated. The design and purchase of a Marathon Coach is controlled by factory representatives. This approach proves to be of greater benefit to the consumer and the manufacturer.
